REZ-2007-21

Sold

Property Transactions for April 13, 2008, The Valdosta Daily Times
  • Lower Lowndes Inc., Hahira, to Shawn Vandemark, Hahira, 5726 Quarterman Road, $940,000.
Shawn Vandemark is a plastic surgeon, Wendy Vandemark is a psychiatrist, and both are associated with SGMC. They have two young sons. Maybe they will actually live there.

De-Listed

Around Saturday 22 March 2008 all the realtor signs disappeared from the property. As of 31 March, Prudential ACS Real Estate no longer lists the property, and there's no obvious listing for it anywhere else online. There's no mention of it in Property Transactions in the VDT (yet). Lower Lowndes, Inc. bought it from Richard Hill in March 2007. Perhaps there's some deadline related to a year from purchase.

New Realtor

As of early January 2008, there's a new realtor sign in front of the property:

County to mull Quarterman Phase 2 rezoning

By Kari L. Sands, The Valdosta Daily Times, Published August 13, 2007 11:15 pm -
VALDOSTA — The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners prepared for tonight’s regular session by reviewing several rezoning cases, including Phase 2 of Quarterman Crossing, during Monday’s work session.

The case pertains to a request to change 58 acres on Quarterman Road from its current zoning of Estate Agricultural to R-1 for a residential subdivision of 63 lots.

According to County Planning, even with the adjacent 82 lot Quarterman Crossing Subdivision, the request is still within an area that is not supportive of residential development at a half-acre density; however, this request is not standing alone. The Greater Lowndes Planning Commission recommended denial of the request by an 8-1 vote. The property was also in question because of concerns of gas easements across the property.
